Reporting a mistake on a card

Include the headline and the source shown on the card, and what is wrong with it - a figure that does not match the article, a quote given to the wrong person, a headline that changes the meaning. The link to the original story helps if you have it.

Subject line Correction gets it looked at first.

Rights and takedowns

If you hold rights in material appearing on a card and want it removed, write with the card details and proof of rights, using subject line Takedown. Requests are actioned rather than argued.

Everything else

Questions, feedback on the design, or a category you wish existed — same address, any subject line.

BRIEF

The news, read at a glance. One card a story, with the depth a turn away when you want it.

How these cards are made

Brief does not report the news. Articles are collected from public news feeds through the Currents API, then read by software and language models that pull out the headline, the figures, the people and the context you see on each card. That process is automatic and no journalist reviews it. Every figure must match a phrase in the source article or it is dropped, but automated systems can still misread a source, lose nuance, or attribute a quote to the wrong person. Each card names the publication that filed the story — please read the original before relying on anything here.
